EVENT RECAP
DAY 1:
On the first day of Swim Week I headed to the Design District for the Mavele Swim Wear event hosted by Kelly Saks. I was greeted by an amazing group of fashion bloggers and many other installations throughout the event.
I was first drawn to the hair installation, of course. The amazing team from Sea Donaldson hair did some amazing waves on my hair. The installations included a customized jewelry station by Taudrey, facials by the Clean Lines and more! After this event we all went to the Peroni Sneak Peak event at the Edition hotel. This included an interactive fashion show, Peroni drinks, and an installation from Beauty for Real. My favorite part of this event was hanging out with the bloggers and enjoying the funny and genuine conversations we had. That is probably the best part of being a blogger for those of you that are wondering, the amazing like minded people that you meet.
Day 2:
On the second day of Swim Week, I attended the Sports Illustrated Opening Event and then went to the Basement Party afterwards. I was so happy with the message for the Sports Illustrated Show, they had "real" women of all shapes and sizes walk the runway and I found it so inspirational. As for the basement party, I was thrilled with the 70's theme including disco ball themed drinks, a glitter makeup up bar by Mac, roller skating and bowling for guests. The sprinkle topped donuts was an extra touch of glam and sparkle for the night.
Day 3:
I attended a few shows at the SLS Miami hosted by Planet Fashion including designers OMG Miami Swimwear, Karma Swimwear and DSQUARED2. Here is a quick recap on all the designers from my point of view.
Karma Bikinis: This collection included fun, boho pieces for the indie girl that is free spirited.
OMG Miami Swimwear: This show was so fun and a great style of swim wear for a bold type of girl. The collection was modeled with plastic outerwear and knee high boots with plastic look as well, to match the "barbie girl" inspired theme.
DSQUARED2: A classic brand that walked the runway in their true style, I loved their fresh out of the pool hair style and branded slides that completed their pool side looks.
Day 4:
On the last day I started off by stopping by a trunk show by MorphewConcept. They had amazing vintage pieces including Missoni and everything you can imagine! They are mostly a luxury vintage store but they do have a few different prices that can appeal to everyone!
Afterwards, I attended a few of the SWIM MIAMI events including Gottex and Duskii.
My reviews are as follows:
Gottex: This was probably one of my favorite shows. I was obsessed with the whimsical prints on the swimsuits and really admired how sexy and classy they were. I also loved the scarves that the models were waving in the air that were perfectly paired with the models swim wear looks.
Duskii: The collection included a personal favorite, high waisted swim wear. It also displayed symmetrical lines and amazing vintage floral inspired headpieces!
